Hocking Valley Community Hospital (HVCH) is a county-owned critical access hospital (CAH) nestled in the heart of the beautiful Hocking Hills region in Logan, Ohio. In existence since 1906, HVCH has been a public, non-profit community hospital since 1949.

We are currently seeking an Education & Training Assistant to join our friendly and employee focused Human Resources & Education team.

This is a full time, day shift position. Some evenings, early morning, and/or weekends may be occasionally required.

About your next career:

The Education & Training Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks and projects for the hospital Education Department including assisting with maintaining the hospital's learning management system.

You'll be expected to:

  • Work closely with Human Resources to coordinate new hire and onboarding activities
  • Manage, assign, and track completion of new employee and annual training and competencies within the learning management system (LMS)
  • Coordinate and schedule instructors for training and education sessions including coordinating training for the electronic health record (EHR) system, Epic
  • Develop communication material for employees and community on education and training sessions including memos, fliers, emails, etc.
  • Assist with maintaining the online employee wellness platform and employee health records
  • Additional secretarial and clerical duties as assigned

What you need for the job:

  • Associate's degree or post-high school clinical training/certification required
  • Strong computer skills including ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, databases, learning management systems, and other computer application
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a clerical/secretarial role required
  • Previous experience in healthcare strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in clinical education/training preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete tasks and projects timely and accurately required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with departmental team members, employees of the hospital, and the general public required
