Our team designs and builds world-class Counter-Robot systems to provide persistent protection across varied threat environments and mission sets. We manage the entire Counter-Robot kill chain from detection through countermeasures.
We aim to protect humans and property from autonomous and remotely piloted, uncrewed systems (UxS) threats.
What You'll Do:
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing backend systems for creating a rich 3D image of remote objects for classification/identification in a real-time environment. You will be involved with R&D projects involving lidar, radar, and other technologies. You'll use your GPU programming skills and develop algorithms that will be crucial in advancing our capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
    • Backend System Design and Development: Design and develop optimized backend systems aimed at classification and identification of remote objects in counter-autonomous scenarios. Leverage your expertise in Python, C , and/or Java to build scalable and high-performance solutions that contribute to the continuous enhancement of Counter-UxS (C-UxS) capabilities.
    • Radar Data Processing: Apply your knowledge in radar data processing and feature extraction analysis to strengthen the multi-sensor data fusion capabilities of C-UxS systems. Collaborate with the team to integrate radar data for a comprehensive understanding of the threat environment.
    • Algorithm Development: Design and implement robust algorithms for efficient processing of remote sensing data.
    • Data Processing and Analysis: Own the end-to-end data processing pipeline, ensuring accurate extraction of relevant information from raw remote sensing data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data trends, patterns, and anomalies.
    • Parallelization and Optimization: Implement parallel processing techniques to enhance the performance of data processing workflows. Optimize algorithms for parallel execution, making efficient use of computational resources to handle large-scale datasets effectively.
    • Network Programming: Develop and maintain network protocols for seamless communication between distributed systems. Collaborate with other teams to ensure efficient data transfer and integration across various components of the remote sensing system.
    • GPU Programming: Utilize GPU programming techniques to accelerate data processing tasks, leveraging the parallel processing capabilities of GPUs. Optimize algorithms to take advantage of GPU architecture for enhanced computational performance.
    • Code Optimization: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Focus on optimizing algorithms and workflows for high performance and scalability, particularly when dealing with extensive volumes of remote sensing data.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including domain experts, and software developers, to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet the needs of end-users. Effective collaboration is essential for successful integration of parallel processing and network programming elements.
    • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation for algorithms, processes, and code to facilitate seamless knowledge transfer within the team. Ensure that documentation supports efficient collaboration and maintains the reproducibility of results.
Required Skills and Abilities
    • Proven experience as a backend developer withexpertise in C , Python, Go or Java
    • Proficient in GPU programming and hardware acceleration, with a focus on optimizing algorithms for parallel processing
    • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems with limited horizontal-scaling options
    • Handling and processing large datasets in real time (GB scale)
    • Parallelization techniques for optimizing computational tasks
    • Algorithm development for remote sensing applications

    • Are a skilled network programmer, including experience with sockets and UDP.
    • Have designed systems that process, filter, and perform feature extraction onLiDAR and Radardata
    • Dabble in3D data modeling
    • Have experience working with LiDAR technology and integration
    • Have experience with geospatial data processing and analysis
    • Storing and managing TBs of data is so commonplace you don't even think of it as a problem
Education and Experience
    • 4 years of proven professional experience with bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
    • OR
    • 2 years of proven professional experiences with master's degree in computer science
    • OR
    • PhD in Computer Science or a related field
    • Other combinations of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
Physical Requirements
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirements
    • Travel expected up to 25% based on needs of the Engineering team.
Other Requirements
    • It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.

$78,500 - $130,500 a year
The High Point Aerotechnologies pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
