As a Housekeeper you would be responsible for the cleanliness, sanitation and orderliness of all building areas, including resident rooms, employee work areas, and common public areas etc.. Responsible to ensure facility linen, and resident’s personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed and/or stored according to facility policy and procedure. Responsible to follow infection control policies and procedures and perform various responsibilities in accordance with New York State Department of Health, and OSHA regulations.
Essential Job Duties:
Sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts, tidies and sanitizes all areas of the facility, including common public areas, resident’s rooms, activity halls, dining rooms, nourishment rooms and kitchen areas, laundry rooms, shower rooms, bathrooms, hallways, entrances, lounges, storage rooms, offices, elevators, stairwells, windows,
May be required to strip, wax and buff floors. May also be required to operate rug extractor in carpeted areas of buildings.
Sorts, organizes, launders, sanitizes, dries, folds and delivers resident clothing and facility linen in a timely and accurate fashion.
Follows facility policy and procedure regarding, cleaning, laundering, sanitizing and disinfecting in accordance with New York State Department of Health and OSHA regulations.
Follows special disinfecting techniques according to policy and procedure for isolation rooms, special handling of linen precautions, and discharge and admission room preparation.
Routinely makes resident beds and handles soiled and clean linen in accordance with facility policy and procedure.
Moves furniture, removes and re-hangs drapes, cubicle curtains, blinds, etc.
May be required to distribute disposable incontinence products to nursing units.
Counts, weighs and records various quantities and amounts of supplies and products used.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED/TASC preferred.
An effective ability to read, write, and speak the English language is required.
