Heritage Health - Idaho is Hiring a Maintenance Supervisor Near Coeur d'Alene, ID

Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is a member of the facilities team and will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems.

Requirements

The Minimum Qualifications 

  • 5-10 Years of experience in Facilities and Maintenance. 
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance. 
  • High school diploma; Vocational school degree a plus. 
  • Ability to work various hours as needed, including evenings and weekends. 
  • Successful completion of driver’s privileges for Heritage Health vehicles is required. 

Your Essential Duties: 

  • Monitor general maintenance of all Heritage Health sites. 
  • Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance. 
  • Hire and supervise third party tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.). 
  • Efficiently and independently monitor, maintain, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance to all Heritage Health sites as appropriate.
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.). 
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance. 
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment. 
  • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations). 
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations. 
  • Ensure proper use, care and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. 
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 

Your Essential Leadership Duties 

  • Recruit, supervise and train maintenance technicians. 
  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work. 
  • Leads and mentors direct reports so that they have the tools and resources needed to partner efficiently with each other, employees and community partners. 
  • Ensure staff are in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, other governing regulations, and Heritage Health policies. 
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

  • May be required to assist subordinates and coworkers with a facility project or task.

  • Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role 
  • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.) 
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations 
  • Understanding of budgeting and performance management 
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Computer savvy 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Must have a knowledge of process improvement and facilitation, excellent communication and problem-solving skills. 
  • Well-organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Computer competence with Word, Excel and Outlook required. 
  • Able to build and maintain rapport with leadership, coworkers, subordinates, patients, providers, and contractors of differing backgrounds; team player. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Tactful, mature, professional demeanor, advocates values-based teamwork and collaborative leadership style. 

Job Overview 

Working Conditions: Work involves occasional exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazard materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Moderate to extensive physical activity involved. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Work environment involves some exposure to elements, hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions and use of Personal Protective Equipment as required. 

Physical/Mental Requirements: 

  • Must be physically able to perform repairs as needed 
  • The physical ability to frequently lift and carry 50 pounds, up to 75 pounds. 
  • Must be able to access and navigate various departments of a given location. 
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy or stressful environment. 
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol.
