Registered Nurse – 5^th Floor Med Surg Unit – 24 Hours – Day Shift

Eligible for part-time benefits

Shift: 7am-7pm, alternating weekends and holidays

GENERAL SUMMARY

Unit Overview:

The 5^th Floor Med Surg Unit is a 44 bed capacity –preferred hospice unit. The patient population is a combination of young adults through their lifespan. 16 beds can consists of tele patients. Our surgical patients are those that have undergone surgeries that require in- patient monitoring. We provide comfort for the End of Life patients while utilizing Palliative and Hospice Care as a resource. 

·Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.

·Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.

·Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.

·Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
