The Co-Occurring Specialty Services Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

  • Supervises the clinical activities of the Specialty Outpatient Programs, including Court, Recovery and Women's Services.
  • Liaison with area hospitals, providers, law enforcement, state and local funders and other referral sources/partner agencies in these areas.
  • Ensures continued program development, compliance with applicable standards (funding source/licensure, accreditation), continued quality programming, budget formulation and projection, maintenance of staffing patterns, achievement of productivity standards, and maintenance of professional relations with the public.
  • Assists staff in actively seeking and maintaining referral sources.
  • Completes accurate, timely required monthly/quarterly reports reflecting program outcomes, utilization and productivity.
  • Arranges or provides coverage as needed for Intakes, Groups, and other clinical functions as needed.
  • Responsible for supervising additional future programs that will operate within the program area.
  • This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business.
  • Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of employment.

1. Quality clinical programming

  • Identify best practice standards and evidence-based practices for program areas.
  • Implement best practice standards for program areas as evidenced by integration into
    service delivery.
  • Continual improvement in quality programming as evidenced by the identification and
    correction of problem areas with no recurring issues.
  • Monitor trends and relate relevant information up and down as appropriate.

2 Ensure compliance of all standards related to supervised programs.

  • Ensure all programs meet standards of licensing agent and funder as evidenced by
    successful audits (target of 85% for MCO's; target of no more than 5 findings for other audits).
  • Ensure all programs meet standards of licensing agent and funder as evidenced by conducting or reviewing peer audits and having no repeat findings in live or desk audits.
  • Participate in auditing processes with licensure, funders, CARF, the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, et. al.

3. New program development

  • Research and identify gaps in service delivery system. Develops new business proposals for expansion of services in clinical areas upon request.
  • Actively participates in new funding opportunities for program expansion.
  • Successfully implements new programming within HRMC as evidenced by 3 months start up to full implementation.

4. Public relations

  • Represents the Center in the community in a positive and professional manner as evidenced by good working relationships (satisfaction surveys, referrals, complaints).
  • Develops new relationships with community providers to generate increased program referrals. Attends a variety of meetings in applicable settings.
  • Provides community education and serves on panels, boards, committees as needed, upon request.

5. Provides supervision

  • Ensure positions are filled in a timely manner as evidenced by position filled expediently with qualified applicants.
  • Staff issues are identified and addressed promptly as evidenced by the utilization of progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Staff are supervised on a regular basis and have a good working knowledge of job duties.
  • Foster professional growth and development of staff through the identification of leadership potential

6. Manage revenue and expenses

  • Monitor and maintain productivity to ensure all revenue targets are met.
  • Control expenses (target of under 97% in relationship to revenues earned).
  • Assist with budget planning and projection, as well as develop strategies for improvements and efficiencies.

7. Promotes and maintains positive teamwork.

  • Organizes and develops team cohesion.
  • Demonstrates consideration and concern for fellow workers and promotes harmonious
    relationships and attitudes.
  • Gives and receives appropriate feedback.
  • Communicates directly and approaches conflict with a win/win: problem-solving approach.

COMPENSATION:

  • Starting salary for this position is approximately $57,903 /yr based on relevant experience and education.

Equipment/Technology :

  • Basic computer skills are required for email, timekeeping, and documentation in the electronic medical record.

QUALIFICATIONS - Co-Occurring Specialty Services Coordinator

Education:

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, addiction, social work, or health-related field preferred; candidate should be licensed or license eligible.

Experience / Knowledge :

  • Candidate should have excellent communication skills, the ability to meet program clinical and productivity requirements, the ability to function effectively in a team environment, and effective supervisory skills.
  • Five years of experience in the social work field or a behavioral health setting required. Three years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.

Physical:

  • Exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal/soft tones and close eye work.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (training provided).
  • Required to be certified in and adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques that include wide range of bodily movements; including but not limited to grasping, holding another person, going down on knee, running, and walking.
  • Applicants should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.
  • Clinical staff may be required to get an F endorsement to transport clients as necessary.
