Title: Department Coordinator, Safe from the Start
Location:
This role is eligible for a “hybrid” work arrangement. It is expected this person would be in the office twice a week and for “in person” meetings when needed or at the request of others. In-person meetings may be required on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, etc.). This person would work from home or in community with participants as needed the remaining three days of the week.
Shift:
Monday to Friday (8:30am to 5:00pm)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Department Coordinator - Safe from the Start Initiative to contribute to our Violence Recovery Services “Safe from the Start initiative”. Our Safe from the Start program offers free, confidential services to children aged 0-5 and their families who have been exposed to violence or trauma in the Chicagoland area. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates a coalition of mental health professionals, plans engaging professional development, and provides vital clinical case management services to children and their families.
  • Facilitates the Complex Trauma Network Committee, engaging stakeholders to support children aged 0-5 exposed to violence.
  • Plans and coordinates quarterly coalition meetings, fostering collaboration and shared learning.
  • Conducts outreach and public education to raise awareness of the impact of violence on children.
  • Provides individual counseling, advocacy, crisis intervention, and resource connections to clients.
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Adheres to professional standards, governmental regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Participates in supervision meetings, and training sessions, and contributes to program planning.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in clinical social work, counseling, or clinical psychology.
  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical practice experience in a hospital or community setting.
  • LPC/LSW license may be required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in a second language (both written and oral).
  • Demonstrated experience with tender-aged populations

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A):

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak fluently in a second language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
  • Comfortable working with individuals of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently.
