Global Medical Response is Hiring a Program Director Near Show Low, AZ

The Program Director (PD) provides leadership, support, and the resources so that the Program its bases can deliver customer oriented, high quality patient care in a safe and efficient manner.

The PD coordinates activities of personnel at assigned bases and collaborates with the Aviation, Maintenance, Clinical and Dispatch Teams. Essential functions include administrating the financial, marketing, growth and business aspects for each assigned base. The assigned bases for this position are located in St. David, Douglas, Show Low and Springerville, AZ.

JOB DUTIES

Leadership

  • Takes responsibility for the overall integrity of the team and team building as well as providing team leadership and guidance

Business

  • Participates in preparation and execution of the annual base operating, patient transport, and capital budgets, performing continuous and timely variance analysis and corrections
  • Responsible for appropriate and measurable financial plan(s)
  • Submits detailed reports to the Regional Director (RD) and Vice President of Operations (VPO), as requested
  • Ensures internal systems and processes exist to support customer goals
  • Serves as a member of the management team, and contributes willingly, effectively, and efficiently as a team member in accomplishing the stated goals of the organization
  • Represents the Company at public and professional meetings, specifically responsible for those meetings within the Program's service area

Program Operations

  • Coordinates daily Program and Base activities
  • Coordinates and manages the local leadership team meetings
  • Recommends and implements changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Program/Base performance
  • Conducts in conjunction with the Safety Officer monthly staff meetings at assigned base to include preparing an agenda, typing minutes and assuring delivery of minutes to all crew members and safety department
  • Ensures crew members follow policy for work related injuries and exposures
  • Participates in consistently and equitably executing established Company policies, and for recommending appropriate modification, deletion, or development of policies such that the mission of the Company is best fulfilled
  • Receives medically related flight problems or issues from medical crews, aviation staff, communications center staff, customers and patients. Resolves medically related problems or issues as they occur with feedback to appropriate persons or refers the issue to the appropriate person for resolution
  • Responsible for the maintenance and organization of facilities

Clinical Operations

  • Assures proper coverage for all medical shifts
  • Secures replacement staff for all work absences
  • Reviews electronic payroll of medical crew for accuracy and submits for approval before the stated deadline
  • Assures proper use, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment and supplies
  • Participates in the evaluation of new equipment/supplies and oversees inventory and supplies
  • Collaborates with the appropriate Educator and Medical Director to resolve any deficiencies
  • Reviews monthly CQI reports refers those with deficiencies to appropriate Educator, Medical Director or Director of Clinical Care Services

Staff Supervision:

  • Direct reporting relationship with the base clinical crew (Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic, and Base Medical Manager) and for base specific operational and service delivery issues
  • Ensures that all base crew members are compliant with company standards and CAMTS regulations
  • Delegates assignments and holds employees accountable for work completion
  • Develops employee talents by promoting professional growth, education, involvement, and decision making
  • Provides guidance in crew performance management, enacting disciplinary actions for clinical personnel according to established policies including counseling, written reprimands, promotions, demotions, and suspensions; makes recommendations concerning terminations
  • Accountable for medical crew licensure, certifications, and clinical requirements
  • Ensures the required credentials are submitted by the base staff to the
  • corporate office and a copy is kept at the base
  • Collaborates with Base Clinical Lead (BCL) to ensure assigned staff has the required OSHA training and TB testing to meet corporate and government compliance
  • Ensures narcotic counts are completed per policy; all staff document narcotic use per policy; and reports any discrepancies immediately to the RD and HR.
  • Assists new employees with completion of the orientation process. Monitors new employee performance by assigning a preceptor and working closely with the BCL to ensure successful transition into the position, throughout the orientation process.
  • Prepares annual employee evaluations for assigned medical staff
  • Carries out disciplinary action with input from the RD and Human Resources
  • Resource for the dissemination of new information and problem resolution for the medical staff
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws

Departmental Collaboration:

  • Indirect reporting relationship with the base leadership team (Lead Pilot, Base Mechanic)
  • Collaborates with the Base Pilot Supervisor and Base Mechanic to ensure the highest level of aircraft reliability and seeks assistance from the RD as needed
  • Collaborates with Base Mechanic and Maintenance Manager for maintenance activities when scheduling maintenance to minimize out of service (OOS) time.
  • Collaborates with the Communications Supervisor and the Regional Director on Communications Center issues
  • Participates in the interview process for the selection of pilots and mechanics to be assigned to the base as requested
  • Collaborates with the Base Pilot Supervisor and Base Mechanic for issues involving aviation or maintenance personnel
  • Collaborates with the Base Pilot Supervisor on the inventory and maintenance of flight helmets assigned to the base

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Responsible and accountable for the service line business management, goals, expectations, and development
  • Responsible for customer mapping to understand customer goals and required deliverables
  • Responsible for "customer listening" to understand and gain insight to the customer experience, needs, and wants
  • Manages customer relations to include in-region business development, communication, and contract management
  • Maintains government relations within base region
  • Oversees base marketing and public relation needs
  • Provides solid measurement/metrics system(s)
  • Actively participates in the local service area to effectively market all end users, and to increase appropriate use of company transport resources
  • Identifies and establishes strong business relationships with all customers within the assigned area
  • Coordinates customer relations/marketing activities for the base staff
  • Ensures that relationship building activities occur with each customer through visits from the Program Director
  • Provides approval for all PR activities involving use of the base aircraft
  • Attends local and regional EMS/Hospital/advisory group meetings

Hiring

  • Participates in the hiring of base operations personnel and provides guidance in annual performance evaluations for base staff
  • Interviews and hires candidates for Flight Nurse and Flight Paramedic positions at the assigned base

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College degree preferred
  • Two years of leadership experience preferred
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
