FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics, Inc. is searching for a Bioinformatician to contribute to our life science and therapeutic research programs. FCDI is expanding the use of genomics and next generation sequencing throughout our research and development teams. In this role you will be responsible for statistical support to ongoing studies on the behavior and performance of our reprogrammed and differentiated cell lines in both life science and therapeutic settings. As a member of the Data Sciences team, and in this new role, you will develop robust analytical pipelines for analysis of a wide range of next generation sequencing data. Work closely with team members in deploying tools and analysis and apply cutting-edge Next Generation technologies such as RNASeq, whole genome sequencing, epigenetic analysis, proteomics, and others to solve important problems in human health.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Perform data analysis (s/mi/mRNAseq, whole genome assembly, SNP, BisSeq, ChIPseq) with in-house and externally generated NGS data.
2. Assist FCDI and Fujifilm scientists in interpreting experimental results.
3. Manage in-house and publicly available data collections in support of these analyses.
4. Evaluate publicly available analysis methods for applicability to FCDI research goals.
5. Organize, script and document analyses to ensure reproducibility.
6. Ensure data and analysis integrity through self-directed review.
7. Support ongoing development projects in bioinformatics and data management.
8. Educate scientific staff on bioinformatics best practices and developments.
9. Develop new methods of analysis as needed.
10. Other job functions as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• Masters degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science or related field of study, or bachelors degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science or related field of study 2 years of relevant experience.
• 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of computational biology with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities.
• Experience with computational biology tools and methods (BWA, GATK, Trinity, Bioconductor, Soap2, Galaxy, BLAST, others).
• Programming experience (Perl, Python, R, bash).
• Relational Database Experience (MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres).
• Unix/Linux experience including shell scripting, basic commands, and utilities.
• Experience in proteomics, mass spec, and image analysis is considered a plus.
• Strong communication skills and being organized.
• Able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Able to work on-site in Madison, WI two to three days a week.
