Hayes Group Architects, an award-winning architecture firm, is seeking a skilled and motivated Job Captain to join our dynamic team. As a Job Captain, you will play a crucial role in the design and construction process, overseeing projects from conception to completion. The successful candidate will possess exceptional technical skills, strong leadership abilities, and a keen attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to a variety of exciting architectural projects.

With offices in Redwood City and downtown San Francisco, this candidate can sit in either.

Responsibilities:

• Design Development: Collaborate with project architects and designers to develop detailed architectural plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Construction Documentation: Prepare accurate construction documents, including drawings and specifications, incorporating necessary information and updates as required.
• Building Codes and Regulations: Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.
• Coordination and Communication: Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, contractors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle to ensure smooth project execution.
• Quality Control: Review construction documents and attend regular site visits to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to design intent.
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
• Construction Administration: Assist with contract administration, including reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and addressing construction-related issues.
• Technology Integration: Utilize architectural software and tools proficiently to enhance productivity and deliver high-quality project documentation.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices to ensure professional growth and contribute to the firm's innovation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field. Professional licensure is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Job Captain or similar role in an architectural firm.
• Experience with Mac OS preferred
• Proficiency in architectural software such as ArchiCAD is preferred, however, we are willing to provide training
• Proficiency in SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suites
• Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle complex architectural challenges.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED accreditation is a plus.
• A strong portfolio showcasing previous architectural projects and design capabilities.
