Harrison Western Construction is currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our team for our Shaft #5 Project at the WIPP facility near Carlsbad, NM. The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is a Department of Energy Facility and the nation's only deep geologic long-lived radioactive waste repository. Located 26 miles southeast of Carlsbad, New Mexico, WIPP permanently isolates defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste 2,150 feet underground in an ancient salt formation. When completed, the final shaft will measure 26 feet in diameter and extend to 2,275 feet below the surface. The work includes mining two access drifts, or tunnels, which will connect the shaft with the existing WIPP underground facility.
We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join our team. Project Engineers provide administrative, coordination and field support to the Project Manager and Superintendent during the preconstruction, construction and closeout phases of projects as assigned. This position is responsible for a variety of project support tasks that require strict adherence and compliance with the Company’s standard operating policies and procedures.
