Could This Be For You?:
In this role, you will assist with obtaining pre-authorizations and processing referrals for the Charlotte area clinics. Previous experience with authorizations in a clinic setting is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience working with insurance companies and completing prior authorization processes. 
 
This role will be in a clinic setting, but usually in the back office setting. 
Your Impact:
Receive requests for prior authorizations and ensure that they are properly and closely monitored within company set standards
Review accuracy and completeness of information requested and ensure that all supporting documents are present
Document all prior authorization information including approval dates, billing units, procedure codes, and prior authorization number in patient profile
Proactively work on prior authorizations that are due to be expired
Secure patients’ demographics and medical information by using discretion and ensuring that all procedures are in sync with HIPAA compliance and regulation
Completes all required duties, projects and reports in a timely fashion on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis per the direction of the leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification:
High school diploma or GED required. 
2 years of office administrative experience 
Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
Preferred Qualifications and Experiences:
At least 1-2 years of experience with EMR/electronic health/medical record systems (preferably NextGen and/or OnBase). 
Working knowledge of HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology for private payer, state and federal plans including coding, billing and reimbursement protocols. 
Associate's degree.
Ability to type 40 correct words per minute. 
At least 2 years of computer and office equipment experience including MS Office products (Word, Excel), e-mail and automated billing systems, facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copiers, etc. 
Basic administrative math accounting skills.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to sit, walk and stand; occasionally bend or twist; regularly talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms (to include reaching overhead); and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing this client facing position, working with a diverse population in multicultural settings, there will large amounts of communication (oral and written) including but not limited to clinicians, patients, physicians, physician’s office representatives, other staff members (field associates, managers, directors) and/or business representatives.
