Hammond Lower School seeks a dynamic and trustworthy individual to join our PreKindergarten and/or Kindergarten team. We are looking for an educator who is experienced in Early Childhood education, caring, organized, collaborative, and committed to a student-centered, developmentally sound learning environment. This full-time exempt position is an assistant teaching position that includes individualized or small group teaching across the content areas; maintaining an organized space conducive for student learning; contributing to a positive, joyful, productive learning environment; and supporting strong communication with the lead teacher. Candidates of interest should be experienced educators, well-organized, punctual, and able to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators. The ideal candidate will possess teaching or related experience in an Early Childhood program; however, candidates with related experiences, strong credentials, and outstanding references will be considered.
We seek teachers who are enthusiastic about working with all types of learners and who support the social and emotional growth of youngest learners. All candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of child development and best practices in teaching and learning. Experiences with one-on-one tutoring programs, working with divergent learners, Apple technologies, and Handwriting without Tears are a plus.
Required: Bachelor's degree or higher in Education and/or related field.
Reporting: Assistant Teachers report to the Head of Lower School.
