Louisville Paving and Construction is Hiring an Industrial Laborer Near Louisville, KY
Purpose:
The Industrial Laborer position is responsible for safely performing a variety of tasks involving various mechanical process equipment and heavy industrial work. This position operates a variety of power tools, cutting tools, and other tools as needed. Work activities would include but not limited to: metal cutting and grinding, rigging, strenuous manual labor as assigned, clean up, proper storage of tools and equipment, fastening parts and material, and various other items. We are hiring for jobs in the Northern Kentucky, Central Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and Greater Louisville area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform duties as assigned.
- Work closely with Foreman and team members to ensure construction projects are completed to specifications and in a timely manner.
- Carry out construction projects, which may require the operation of a variety of hand and power tools.
- Maintain a clean job site, pick up all tools and equipment, and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Unload and load construction materials.
- Must be flexible and willing to learn and use new skills quickly.
Education & Experience:
- Previous experience in construction work or equivalent experience preferred.
- Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies preferred.
- Willing to work long hours if necessary.
Skills and Specifications:
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to Weld, stick and wire feed welder, certification not required but preferred. (Flat, vertical, overhead)
- Ability to cut with plasma, grinder, and oxygen/acetylene torch.
- Ability to measure and layout materials to meet the required drawings/ specifications.
- Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project.
- Checking finished work to make sure that if falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
- Knowledge of fabricating metals to meet the required drawings/ specifications.
