We offer civil and structural engineering, planning landscape architecture, survey, and construction inspection services to public and private clients throughout Texas.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

This position will support our growing water resources practice. The successful candidate can expect to work in a dynamic team environment on a variety of projects, including drainage/flood studies, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, analysis and design, and bridge/culvert hydraulics. Our ideal candidate will have four or more years of surface water experience supporting private and/or public sector projects.

Once selected to join our team, you will:

  • Preparing H&H studies, drainage reports, exhibits, grading plans, and design plans/specifications/cost opinions for water resources projects.
  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of production portions of projects.
  • Communication with regulatory agencies (Municipalities, Counties, FEMA, etc.)
  • Assisting with developing scopes of work and associated budgets.
  • Oversee drainage tasks and coordinate with different teams/departments.
  • Ability to lead and teach less experienced engineers as well as designers and technicians.
  • Watershed master planning and stormwater master planning.
  • Report or planning level documents CIP development.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Experience with Civil3D, Microstation, ArcGIS, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and other related hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design software.
  • Experience with Infoworks ICM or 2D flow simulation software is a plus.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality work.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the potential/desire to lead a practice and manage clients and a team.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Four or more years of relevant experience in drainage/flood study modeling and/or design.
  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling.
  • Technical writing in the form of memorandums, feasibility studies, regulatory submittals, and master plans.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
