A law Firm is Hiring a Real Estate Contract Attorney Near San Diego, CA

Job Description

Job Description

We are primarily a real estate litigation firm representing investors, entrepreneurs, and lenders within the real estate industry. Some of our clients are institutional types of clients that provide us with a forward flow of business. We are attempting to grow and expand both within California and within the state of Texas. We’re looking for attorneys who can assist us in this endeavor.

We are looking for a Contract Attorney with civil litigation experience. This can be a primarily remote position (though some hearings/trials may require an appearance in person). It can also be an in-office position. We have technology in place that makes both alternatives possible. The ideal candidate will work closely with the firm’s managing attorney, administrative staff, and other attorneys. You should have the ability to handle a diverse caseload, have civil litigation experience, possess research and writing skills, be able to communicate effectively, take copious notes, and be comfortable using today’s technology.

At some point during the interviewing process, a writing sample and references will be requested.

Compensation:

$100 - $125 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
  • Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies
  • Capable of taking copious notes relative to research, hearings, telephone calls, and other activities
  • Abide by firm policies and procedures, including policies and procedures relating to the documentation of activities
  • Track time using time and billing software
  • Prepare case updates for clients
  • Updating a DMS and CRM system
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree
  • Active member of the California State Bar Association in good standing
  • One (1) or more years of litigation experience (including trial experience)
  • Advanced computer skills including working with legal research programs (Westlaw and Lexis) and other software (DMS systems, CRM systems, time and billing systems) preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to handle a caseload with little supervision
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and communication skills are a must
