CIC is Hiring an Assistant Director of Sales - Philadelphia, PA Near Philadelphia, PA

CIC is looking for an ambitious person to drive lab and office space sales in CIC’s largest Lab Campus. This is a great opportunity for someone with 5 years of sales and management experience in biotech or the life sciences, who has an interest in growing revenue and developing sales team members.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WORK

As the Assistant Director of Sales, you will manage a client portfolio of approximately ~30 companies and provide senior-level oversight to assist our clients in getting the most out of their experience at CIC. You will report to the General Manager (GM) of CIC Philadelphia, and work with prospective clients to ensure that CIC becomes the right place for them to start their business. You will directly manage 1-2 sales team members and provide strategic guidance for sales efforts and focus on strengthening the sales pipeline.

This role will be based in Philadelphia with an ability to travel to other locations periodically.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing sales pipelines, including general team management, sales and client management and training.

• Nurture key local broker relationships to drive life science pipeline.

• Representing CIC at onsite and offsite events, tours and speaking opportunities, cross-site initiatives and trainings.

• Driving the creation and implementation of new programs and initiatives around new sales, client support, and overall business development, both independently and in support of the GM.

• Representing sales team needs (and therefore the voice of the clients) to other CIC departments. Specifically, you’ll be working with the Community & Labs Teams to ensure a healthy relationship between all departments and the overall function of the site.

• Collaborating with the Labs, Ops, Events, and Venture Cafe teams to connect clients, assisting in voicing the CIC mission to external partners, and strengthening the sales pipeline.

• Managing high-level partnerships, both internally (primary academic partnership, building owners and management, unique client setups) and external, city-wide partnerships, often independently and other times alongside the General Manager.

• Owning responsibility for the sales system management and revenue/goal tracking for CIC Philadelphia.

• Comfortable working with everyone, treating everyone as an equal.

• Demonstrable success in the work you have performed.

• Able to work independently and communicate effectively with team members and customers alike.

• A seasoned leader who can inspire confidence, make decisions confidently with the best information available to you, and carry yourself with gravitas before senior leadership and stakeholders.

• Personable, happy to help others, and naturally drawn to an ever-evolving environment.

• An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.

• Naturally interested in helping and supporting others.

YOU HAVE

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree (MBA and/or MS or PhD in life sciences or related fields) is a plus.

• At least 3 to 5 years’ leadership experience in sales, business development, strategic partnerships, and/or marketing in a commercial environment in the biotech, life sciences, and/or real estate industry.

• Strong connections to the Philadelphia life science ecosystem (i.e. universities, tech transfer offices, investors, startup companies, economic development groups, real estate, etc.).
