Are you ready to join us?

Responsibilities: 

  • Complete bridge design projects and other transportation-related structural design and analysis projects.

  • Design and draft steel, concrete, and timber bridges, walls, and related structures.

  • Conduct structural analyses, develop calculations, and prepare plans in accordance with state and local agency requirements.

  • Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and special provisions.

  • Perform QA/QC reviews of calculations, special provisions, and plans prepared by others.

  • May perform site and structure inspections and other responsibilities associated with this position as required.

  • Manage and maintain project and QA/QC documentation

  • Assist project managers with assignments as needed including schedule and budget updates and proposal preparation.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of related structural design experience.

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering required.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)

  • PennDOT design experience is required.

  • Proficiency with MicroStation is required. OpenRoads Bridge Modeler is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Finite element analysis experience is a plus.

  • National Bridge Safety Inspection certification is a plus.

Work Environment

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
