Description
The Prefinish-Assembly Technician will prepare Pella Window and Door products for finishing with either a stain or paint. This includes the disassembly of products, preparation of surfaces, masking, staining or painting, proper reassembly and repackaging. A keen awareness to detail is required. Monday - Friday 1st shift

Requirements

• Unpack the product using a process that allows you to reuse the original packaging material. The labeling must maintain its integrity so the bar code can be used to verify the products movement within the warehouse and be in tact so the customer can use the room location at the project to install it in the correct room.
• Disassemble window and door products without damage. Follow a specific process to keep the fasteners and other parts organized so they can be matched up with the product when reassembly is required.
• Prepare units for finishing. This will require sanding, cleaning, and masking products with a high level of detail.
• Some units will require hand staining. Neatness counts.
• Reassemble and package the products that have been finished with great care and professionalism so the operation meets the customer's expectation.
• Stage completed material so it will not be damaged and is in the location matching the warehouse software.
• Complete any other departmental responsibilities assigned by the Pre-Finish Coordinator including cleaning and stocking materials.
• Comply with the established Gunton Safety Policies and guidelines.
• You must demonstrate that you care about the customer by maintaining the quality in all tasks you are assigned.
• Participate with the team making the department a great place to work.
• Quickly pick up on instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Perform your tasks at an acceptable pace throughout the day.
• You must be physically fit to move and lift heavy window and door openings
• Clear and concise verbal communication and legible writing is a must
• Drives safety in the environment, through the implementation of safe processes and develops a safety conscious work team.
