Job Summary:

The Maintenance Clerk at STC is primarily responsible for sourcing, researching parts, submitting purchase requests, stock, issuing parts, and maintaining inventory. The Maintenance Clerk will be required to work closely with the maintenance team, vendors and suppliers to schedule, verify work completion, and ensure everything is received on a timely basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Place purchase requisitions in a timely matter, follow up on back orders and find a vendor for new or obsolete parts
• May assist in routine facility and equipment preventive maintenance
• Performs routine daily inspections of assigned buildings and spaces
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of purchasing processes and inventory maintenance or willingness to learn
• Proficiency in the use of a variety of tools ranging from common hand and power tools (hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches)
• Good customer service skills to work effectively with co-workers and users of the equipment and the facility
• Valid driver’s license required to drive STC vehicle locally

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is normally performed on site at STC’s manufacturing facility in St. Albans, Vermont. Most of the work is generally performed at a computer or on the shop floor, which can be noisy and dusty, as well as hot during the summer. Proper safety equipment is provided by STC where necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work involves prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, and climbing ladders, to properly inspect or repair equipment or structures. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. and push and pull hand carts loaded with up to 500 lbs.
