What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Administrative Assistant position at Gulf Coast Social Services?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Serve as a Medical Administrative Assistant and contribute to the efficient and orderly operation of the Alexandria & Lake Charles Regional Office by performing administrative medical duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse/LPN or Regional Director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensure all medical documentation is complete and signed by the Registered Nurse/LPN.
2. Prepare in-service trainings and education material to agency staff, as assigned.
3. Ensure Medical Administration Records (MARs) are printed and distributed monthly.
4. Review all incoming medical documentation. If any discrepancies are found, report to Registered Nurse/LPN.
5. Prepare medication delegation forms per Registered Nurse for medication changes or non-complex nursing tasks.
6. File all medical documentation in corresponding client’s record.
7. Prepare client specific training packets and documentation of competency for each individual client.
