Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a Senior Development Accountant to manage financial aspects of development projects. This role involves tracking and reporting project expenses, analyzing budgets, preparing financial statements, and ensuring financial compliance throughout the development process. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume transaction environment, demonstrating strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize deadlines.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Process, track, and submit development draw requests for multiple projects, ensuring timely payment to vendors
- Handle monthly financial close, including preparation of financial statement packages for multiple development projects
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements according to GAAP and internal policies
- Prepare monthly reports and budget revisions as needed
- Monitor receipt of lender and equity funding
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage monthly development accruals and provide accurate cost information for development valuations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare audit/tax schedules as required
Requirements of the Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Experience in construction draw preparation
- Familiarity with real estate accounting software (e.g., RealPage, Yardi)
- Highly organized with excellent multitasking abilities
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with construction pay applications
- Proficiency in general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes
- Strong ability to reconcile accounts, expenses, perform various analyses, and prepare reports with great attention to detail
