The San Francisco SPCA was founded on the principle that a small group of people, working together and working strategically, could make a huge impact on the lives of animals. Over a century and a half, that has proven to be true. We’ve set out to achieve a goal of impacting 5 million lives in 10 years with what we call Vision 2030. We are not only impacting lives in San Francisco, but also expanding our reach through the state of California. To achieve this goal, access to basic veterinary care will be imperative.
Are you that person in your neighborhood that everyone comes to with their animal questions? Are you well connected in your community? We are actively seeking a Community Ambassador for Tulare County, who is ingrained in their community and can utilize their connections to help identify, address, and solve local challenges relating to limited access to veterinary care. Serving as a valuable resource and service provider, the Community Ambassador will play a crucial role in enhancing pet health and offering support within their community.

  • Collaborating with volunteers in various community outreach activities (i.e. vaccine clinics).
  • Facilitating relationships with community members and shelter representatives.
  • Educating community members on the benefits of spay/neuter services and facilitating these appointments.

  • Thorough understanding of local community
  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate skillfully and effectively with diverse communities and before groups of people
  • Solid computer skills and database experience

  • Experience in collecting, managing and reporting clean data

As an employee of the SF SPCA, you will receive:

About San Francisco SPCA

As the fourth oldest humane society in the U.S. and the founders of the No-Kill movement, the SF SPCA has been at the forefront of animal welfare for 150+ years. We are always looking for passionate, animal-loving professionals to join our family. We are a true collaborative community of top-ranked experts, supporting staff and volunteers who come together in our world-class facilities to save lives. We're passionate about making sure homeless animals find loving homes and all animals get the care they deserve. If these animals are injured, sick, or behaviorally challenged, we will do everythi ... ng we can to help them. OUR HISTORY IS SAVING ANIMALS In 1868, Banker James Sloan Hutchinson caught sight of two men dragging a terrified hog along the rough cobblestone street in San Francisco. Appalled, Hutchinson stepped in to stop the cruelty and rescue the hog. The incident crystallized Hutchinsons concern over widespread animal abuse, and he soon rallied 15 like-minded citizens to found the San Francisco SPCA. Today we are a mighty presence in the animal welfare community. Our vision is about creating a community where pets can live their best lives. Where animals not only have loving homes, but also access to medical care and the best welfare. We ask ourselves: How can we improve the quality of life for cats and dogsand the people who love them?
