What You’ll Do
The Senior DevOps Engineer reports to the DevOps Manager and works with: Engineering and Application Development Teams, SREs, Security and other relevant teams.
In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining our AWS-based cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes environment. You'll play a crucial role in system reliability, efficiency, and continual improvement of our technology stack.

Your Impact

• Upgrade and maintain AWS environment focusing on auto-recovery and geographically distributed redundancy.

• Simplify architecture to expand the use of Amazon Web Services applications.

• Enhance system monitoring and alerting, improving incident resolution times and reducing false positives.

• Upgrade system logging and benchmarking for fine-tuning application infrastructure and better insight into system performance.

• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to enhance system performance through environmental upgrades and improvements.

• Develop and maintain automation tools for managing infrastructure and applications.

• Provide deployment, support, and monitoring for new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks.

• Conduct system performance measurement and optimization, including capacity planning and management.

• Research and implement new technologies to advance our capabilities and proactively address future challenges.

What You Bring to the Table

• Extensive experience with AWS services and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Sumo Logic, and Catchpoint is a plus.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and an ability to identify root causes of issues.

• Experience with automation and a proactive approach to system improvements.

• Familiarity with Lens IDE for Kubernetes.

• Ability to handle on-call rotations and provide timely support and resolution.

• Experience in managing full infrastructure lifecycle duties including updates, upgrades, and migration.

Bonus Points

• Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes, or related fields.

• 5 years experience with architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems on AWS platform.

• 5 years experience with automation programming in Python, Java, Ruby, Ruby on Rails or similar scripting language

• Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal direction, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation in a remote work setting.

Location

This role is remote and can be located anywhere inside the continental United States. iSeatz is a New Orleans-based company with Central Time Zone business hours, but feel free to work from your home office, from the beach, or from the cottage you rented for the summer!
