We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Accountant to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 610 E. Gish Rd. in San Jose and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Accountant to provide support to the corporate office based at Gish Road. This role's main function will be to undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks to help guarantee the company's revenues.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end and year-end close procedures
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
• Maintain and organize financial records and documentation.
• Support management, senor accountants and finance team members in daily tasks
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies
• Reconcile bank statements and other general ledger accounts such as prepaids, accruals, etc. and resolve discrepancies
• Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for improvement and efficiency
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing supporting documentation and explanations as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve financial reporting accuracy
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of methods, practices, terminology, and procedures used in general accounting.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve issues quickly and escalate appropriately.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Software knowledge in the following is preferred: Great Plain, SharePoint, PowerPoint

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• 1 years of accounting experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Work Environment :
The available Accountant position is a full-time nonexempt position. Standard work is Monday - Friday with office hours from 8am - 5pm. This position is based at the GreenWaste corporate office and reports to the Accounting Manager/Controller.
