GREENE COUNTY GENERAL HOSPITAL is Hiring a Director of Radiology Near Linton, IN

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Diagnostic Radiology, CT, Ultrasound and PACS Administrator duties to facilitate high quality services and to provide support to patients, physicians, families, and other departments. This is accomplished by having appropriate staffing levels to cover the service, equipment that is in good operating condition, and the necessary supplies to perform the procedure or exam. Ensures patient care environments and practices support exemplary, safe, and high-quality care of patients and families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for day-to-day supervision in the radiology department to include hiring and performance management of staff.
  • Understand the nature of work done in Radiology and the dictation and reporting processes of the department.
  • Responsible for managing Radiology quality plans, metrics and HIPPA requirements, and security policies and procedures.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing customer complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through.
  • Responsible for integration of all modalities into the Picture Archiving and Communication system (PACS); ensures routine maintenance is performed, problems corrected and systems, including software and electronic data programs, are in place to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for patient care/service delivery.
  • Data reconciliations within PACS and RIS/HIS
  • Develop and monitor quality plans to assess departmental performance and ensure established targets are achieved.
  • Promote and contribute to the expertise in clinical radiology by providing expert-level guidance on technical issues to a range of staff from entry level to lead positions.
  • Promotes and nurtures teambuilding and career growth to maximize productivity and job satisfaction.
  • Develop procedures and methods in accordance with accreditation requirements.
  • Interface with other sites and departments in addressing technical radiology questions.
  • Plan and schedule work for the Department, ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
  • Perform limited evaluation of radiological examinations in order to determine additional projections required.
  • Maintain records of films taken in the department; compile statistical reports and analyses reflecting operational activities.
  • Supervise employees in the performance of cleaning, adjusting and performing routine maintenance on equipment; stocking and replenishing supplies, as required.
  • Understanding of HL7 and ADT messaging for HIS, RIS, PACS, dictation, and modalities
  • Manage and troubleshoot DR and CR units and diagnostic reading stations and clinical workstations.
  • Understand and troubleshoot CT, MRI, PET, NUC, US, ECHO, MAMMO, CATH, SP, CR, DR, C-ARM, IVUS, FLOURO ETC.
  • Ensures patient care environments and practices support exemplary, safe, and high-quality care of patients and families.
  • Ensures that workplace environments are safe and that strategies are in place to prevent physical and psychological harm.
  • Demonstrates clear ownership of workplace and patient safety.
  • Reports mistakes, near misses, adverse events and quality and safety concerns.
  • Develops and implements safety and quality plans that support exemplary workplace and care practices, while also supporting a culture of safety.
  • Knowledge of workflow in other clinical departments.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: Graduate of a 2 year AMA approved program in radiologic technology, AAS or BS degree.
Certification/Licensure: ARRT certification in Radiography and/or Computed tomography required. CPR/BLS certification required.
Experience: This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in clinical radiology and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience. Intermediate computer experience required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
Physical Requirements: Frequent sitting, standing and walking. Ability of bend, stoop, reach and pull. Must be able to lift 100 lbs. without assistance. Good visual acuity.
