The Senior Real Estate Land Development Paralegal must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be H onest, O bjective, M ature and E fficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.

The Senior Real Estate Land Development Paralegal is to provide support to General Counsel Real Estate.

• Review title work and surveys and draft title objection letters
• Prepare initial drafts of contract amendments and property deeds
• Track receipt of due diligence materials
• Prepare closing checklists for land transactions
• Close large real estate transactions
• File Management With an understanding of project files related to single family land and lot acquisition, development and disposition
• Track and assist with post-closing items
• Assist with agricultural leases and filing for exemptions
• Facilitate Homeowner Association (HOA) turnovers and conveyance of common areas to HOAs
• Contract management including calculating deadlines and docketing critical dates
• Obtain signatures on documents
• Assist with corporate maintenance
• Correspond with outside counsel and title companies

Education: Associate degree or higher; Paralegal Certificate preferred

Experience: 8 12 years of experience working as a Real Estate Paralegal; experience in residential land development required.

Competencies: Microsoft Office; DocuSign; Notary Public; Google Earth; Teams; strong organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills; highly detail oriented; ability to work independently and excel in a fast-paced environment; ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
