Great Northern Corporation in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Production Team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED. Provides interface and support to customer quality issues and concerns. Facilitates an effect response and leads a course of action for problem resolution. Performs product specific tasks as required. (i.e. First Article Inspection, Qualification testing/assurance, Failure analysis, Root Cause analysis, Customer press checks and Product Inspections). Ensure the facility is in compliance with all Quality and Environmental standards. Enhance and maintain GNC Twin Cities quality reporting system, in concert with providing internal and external performance metrics. Review quality trends, track root causes, initiate and implement corrective actions, and track effectiveness. Participate in the review of design, manufacturing, test, and qualification requirements. Maintains GNC Twin Cities Quality System. Leads internal and external Audits and maintains all applicable documentation. Site specific coordinator for Environmental Compliance requirements. Provides input and recommendations to management on process and/or procedural improvements. At times, will lead process improvement efforts. Interacts with representatives from a variety of functional groups: Customers, Suppliers, Vendors, GNC Management, Sales, Customer Service, Project Management, Manufacturing Supervision and Direct Labor. Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks as assigned from time-to-time by management representatives. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Four year degree in Engineering. Three to five years of experience with an emphasis in manufacturing operations, quality and/or safety/occupational health preferred. Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, influence and implement change. A commitment to ethical business standards and personal integrity. Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal communications skills in both oral and written format. High level of ability to work effectively with employees and managers/supervisors and the ability to convey a positive and professional image to employees and customers. Above average ability to use Microsoft Office software (Word, E-mail, Publisher and Excel) spreadsheet applications. Exposure to other computer software such as manifest or plant data collection. Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure, manuals and order specifications. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Exposure to a sales, manufacturing and distribution environment preferred. Approachable and supportive when working with others. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
