JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position is responsible for developing and maintaining Power BI Reports, to report on the performance of the Electric Distribution PMO organization, to ensure timely and efficient monitoring and analysis of engineering project costs, trends, schedules and engineering services. Developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI Desktop. Connecting to various data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence. Excellent in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports. Compliance review of data for validation of business requirements.
Essential Functions:
o Works within PMO Project Controls for the development of Power BI Reports, for reporting on the overall effectiveness and performance of internal and external engineering organizations pulling information from systems such as Maximo, Power Plan, Access and Oracle Primavera into Power BI.
o Works with Engineering, Project Planning and Scheduling, Project Management, Operations, Contract Administration, Procurement, to gather requirements for development of Power BI Reports, in alignment with corporate goals and strategies.
o Responsible to produce a variety of complex reports in support of our client's project initiating, planning, scheduling, contracting, executing, controlling, compliance and close-out initiatives within the PMO
o Developing Power BI Reports to report out on key project metrics including Contracted Spend, Schedule Performance, Resource Loading, Risk Management, Project Productivity, Change Order Management, Subcontract Performance, Internal and External Commercial Performance, and other key metrics that will continue to drive efficiency and transparency for PMO execution.
o Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI Reports as per the business requirements. Able to properly understand the business requirements and develop efficient data models.
o Should have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.
o Should have knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, PolyBase, Visual Studio, etc.
o Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation.
o Must be experienced in developing custom visuals for Power BI.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent degree will be considered; MBA or equivalent education highly desirable.
