**Job Description**

To handle all administration for cargo claims and other related projects associated with liability claims.

Job duties to include:

Evaluate claims as assigned, determine the best approach for resolution and execute this approach.

Research and evaluate evidence to make an unbiased decision within the bounds of Expeditors contract of carriage, service contracts, and other applicable international treaties.

Understand and appropriately apply the contractual terms set forth in the agreement between the customer and Expeditors.

Provide accurate and detailed reporting as required to the account management team and customer.

Demonstrate the ability to successfully obtain recoveries from responsible parties in a timely manner.

Accurately document each claim, both in edoc and in the claims system, so that the claim documents are accessible and maintained, and the claim reflects the investigation that took place.

Work with branches, agents, and clients as needed to educate them on the claims process. Strive to maintain and protect the Expeditors network.

Serve as a single point-of-contact in the claims department for the assigned customers and the account management team.

Ability to understand, manage and prioritize and re-prioritize with a sense of urgency.

Proactive identification of opportunities for process and efficiency improvement.

Ability to work under direction as a positive team member is required.

100% compliance with all CHQ policy and procedure and embodiment of Expeditors culture points.

**Qualifications**

Experience and Education:

Minimum two years office experience or demonstrated equivalent. Experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry encouraged, but not required. Fifty-two hours of training credits are required in each calendar year and an ongoing pursuit of education.

Peer Positions:

Cargo Claims Specialist positions and customer service positions at CHQ and in the branches. You will be expected to work closely with other Risk Management Department employees and occasionally Expeditors branch personnel.
