Shift: 7:30 pm – 4:00 pm Monday - Friday
Pay: $25.00/hr
SUMMARY:
A Building Maintenance Technician or Proctor functions as a liaison between a campus building, its occupants, and the Facilities Management department. Proctors serve as contacts for work requests, maintenance issues, and emergencies, and are responsible for advising and disseminating information to building occupants.
- Two years’ experience with residential; air conditioning, plumbing, appliances and finishes maintenance and repair.
- Experience with limited 120V (power disconnected) electrical repairs.
- Experience with grounds and planter maintenance.
- Experience and familiarity with computers.
- Experience fixing and maintaining equipment and machinery, and keeping activity logs.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with persons of diverse backgrounds, strong customer service skills.
- Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form which includes the ability to check for typographical, grammatical, and spelling errors in English.
- Ability to stand and walk on a constant basis, climb, crawl, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders on a frequent basis, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull, repetitious hand/wrist/elbow/arm/shoulder movement, etc.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions including snow, rain, heat, cold, and with chemicals/solvents, work alone, above ground and in small confined spaces, walk on uneven surfaces and climb on scaffolds/ladders, willing and able to work in areas where you may be exposed to hazardous chemicals or infectious materials.
- Possess a valid Colorado driver’s license, ability to pass a motor vehicle check, criminal background check and drug test
- Must be willing and able to work straight or rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
