• Top Skills : *1) 2-6 years of experience in enterprise software licensing / agreement activities, specifically working closely with internal IT teams and software vendors for purchasing & renewals, negotiation, cost-benefit analysis, etc2) Experience keeping timelines, hitting deliverables, and keeping clear communication.
• Description : *Software License Management :
• Enter requisitions for the purchase of all software licenses; ensure appropriate quantities and licensing models are purchased, determine contract requirements, ensure orders are placed and validate proper payment.
• Manage renewals to ensure they are processed in advance of their expiration.
• Evaluate agreements / quotes to calculate financial impact to support leadership decisions regarding purchases.
• Enter all software purchased and discovered into ITAM system.
• Evaluate agency’s licenses to ensure the quantities deployed align with the quantities and licensing models purchased.
• Work with Product Owners / Managers in negotiating license reductions / increases as necessary due to usage.
• Develop license templates / checklists, assess and participate in negotiating new software vendor license agreements and negotiating changes to existing agreements.
• Evaluate and recommend options to reduce licensing costs.
• Liaise with IT and business unit representatives to track of all software products deployed to ensure the agency has sufficient licenses and remains in compliance.

Ensure adequate number and usage of licenses by monitoring, analyzing and optimizing.

Research, evaluate, recommend and implement methods, policies, processes, best practices, techniques, technologies and tools for software license management.

Software Compliance Management :

• Manage enterprise wide compliance with all software license agreements and copyright law by monitoring and enforcing proper software usage policies and guidelines to ensure that there is no non-conformance.
• Read and understand software licenses to ensure compliance; take corrective action if necessary.
• Conduct internal software audits to identify variances between deployed and licensed software; ensure deployed software aligns with the quantity and licensing models purchased;

rectify variances between deployed and licensed software.

• Manage vendor compliance audits as required.
• Develop software policies, processes and guidelines to ensure compliance and provide reporting for compliance.
• Work with all levels of management to resolve compliancy issues.
• Avoid excessive or unwarranted software usage.- Provides explanations and assistance to employees, vendors, and other customers, regarding policies and procedures relating to assigned area of work.
• Assists in preparation or compilation of financial information in decision support to management; assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to assigned area of work.
