Columbia Fire is Hiring a Fire Sprinkler Service Sales Near Seattle, WA

COMPANY & INDUSTRY OVERVIEW:

Columbia Fire has been in the Seattle market since 2005 and has grown to over 60 employees. We are excited for growth into new vertical and geographical markets. We have provided excellent customer service to a core group of customers for many years, but look forward to finding new customers to serve.

Fire protection is a great industry, literally saving and protecting lives. The systems are complex and the inspections, testing, and maintenance of those systems is critical, so much so that they are required by law.

What we offer:

  • Health, Life, Dental and Vision Insurance
  • Health Savings Account
  • 401(k) Plan – Match up to 3.5%
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Paid Community Service Time
  • Paid Holidays
  • Performance Bonus Based on Sales
  • Employer Paid Life Insurance

COMPANY VALUES:

  • Customer Centricity: We prioritize our customers and their needs. Customers know they are cared about and appreciated. All decisions will consider the best interests of the customer, resulting in customer retention, increased sales, and increased loyalty. We are solutions providers.
  • Effective Communication: We actively listen to each other and our customers. We face conflict and engage to resolve issues quickly. We provide clear expectations at each transition of ownership in all projects and processes.
  • Consistency: We dependably resolve our customers’ issues, providing quality products and services every time. We are proud of our quality products, service, and communication. We do what we said we would do, when we said we would do it, for the price we promised, and then throw in a little extra.
  • Initiative: We are empowered to make decisions that drive the company forward and support our team on each project. Employees are self-driven and self-managing leaders, full of innovation and growth.
  • Trustworthy: We respectfully support each other. We are proud of our team, our quality, and product. We face conflict, actively engaging with each other to resolve issues early, quickly, and thoroughly. We own our mistakes and learn from them. We do the right thing, even when it hurts.

Columbia Fire wants to find entrepreneurial, driven, proactive sales hunters to join the team. Although prior experience in fire systems is a plus, it is not necessary. An ambition for selling, customer service, and meeting your goals is the person we want. We need proactive communicators, who are solutions providers, and don’t just accept “no” for an answer.

If you are a proactive and persuasive communicator who excels at generating new business opportunities, we have an exciting opportunity that aligns with your career aspirations. We are seeking a results-driven sales professional who thrives on acquiring new clients, performs effectively in high-pressure situations, and takes ownership of meeting and exceeding revenue targets.

The position of Service Sales requires an understanding of fire sprinkler systems and the ability to assess deficiencies and price their repair. This is not a deficiency sales desk job, but rather an expectation to relationally visit mostly existing customers, take them to lunch, bring them company SWAG, and solve their problems. As they have repairs or improvements, we want them to call you directly because they know your face. You will walk the project with them, price the solution, and then coordinate with the superintendent to schedule the approved work. When not actively pricing opportunities, be visiting existing customers (and some new potential customers) solidifying the relationship. Position requires either some fire sprinkler field or design/engineering experience to be able to price the work needed.

This position is currently only pricing fire sprinklers and fire extinguishers, but eventually we will have fire alarm, low voltage, wet/dry chemical fire suppression and clean agent/special hazards divisions. The ability to sell all types of service work is not required but highly preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to potential buyers for service agreements, system upgrades, and modifications through scheduled sales calls and follow-ups
  • Identify customer needs through site surveys and effectively communicate Columbia Fire’s capabilities
  • Maintain a backlog of proposals to support sales plan
  • Cultivate customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships
  • Achieve objectives outlined in the annual commission plan
  • Keep supervisor informed of any actions that may impact assignments or company operations
  • Provide necessary support and complete assigned projects

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in fire protection sales
  • Proficient in life safety and NFPA codes
  • Ability to read a set of architectural plans and/or fire sprinkler shop drawings and price fire sprinkler work needed based on the plans and specifications
  • Established relationships with General Contractors, Property Managers, Building Engineers, and Owner
  • Strong prospecting and closing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
  • NICET Level I or II in Water Based Design or Water Based Inspection & Testing preferred

All qualified applicants with Columbia Fire will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity, national origin or status as a qualified individual with a disability or protected veteran.
