POSITION OVERVIEW:

Safely operates a truck or van under 26,000lbs and up to26ft long primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise from donation centers,Goodwill stores/facilities or businesses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safeguards company property, including donated goods.Immediately reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession ofcompany property to the Transportation Director and/or Asset Prevention.

Maintains records such as Vehicle Logs and daily Trip Sheetsaccording to all State and Federal laws and company procedures.

Provides basic supervision for assigned Truck Helper.

Reports any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.

Reports delays, accidents, or other traffic andtransportation situations to headquarters.

Loads and unloads trucks, vehicles, containers and trailers.Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck, lift gate and/orpallet jack.

Maintains appropriate communication with headquarters.

Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections on theirassigned vehicle daily.Inspecting truckequipment and supplies (such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water).Reports any concerns to headquarters or a transportation management memberimmediately.

Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck toprevent damage during transit.

Use good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, respect,sensitivity, politeness and thoughtfulness.

Abides by all Goodwill's established policies andprocedures.

Adhere to all safety procedures and wear all safetyequipment that is required for the specific task.

Accomplishes retail and organization mission by completingrelated assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS ANDSPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)preferred.Minimum 6 -12 monthscommercial truck driving experience.

Valid Georgia Driver's License (Class C), with drivingrecord acceptable to company's vehicle insurance standards.

Must be able to read operating and safety instructions.

Ability to use effectively a dolly, pallet jack and liftgate.

Must have a flexible schedule (can work evenings andweekends when required).
