The Donation Attendant is a part of something truly special at Goodwill SF Bay by playing an important role in our mission! Working out of our Donation Site in Moraga, the Donation Attendant will be the face of our organization, welcoming and helping our generous donors while ensuring their contributions are handled with care.

What You Will Do:

  • Establish partnerships with donors to ensure a continuous flow of goods
  • Proper logging of donor counts daily including proper logging of all eWaste Donations
  • Offer tax receipts to donors and provide assistance in unloading donations
  • Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage
  • Assist drivers in loading/unloading of goods or equipment
  • Communicate needed reports and information in a timely manner
  • Sort and label goods by category and place in proper containers or equipment
  • Separate high-end goods, computer and computer accessory and place in proper equipment
  • Fill out needed production and inventory reports
  • Stack donated goods neatly and safely
  • Perform basic arithmetical calculations including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
  • Hand out marketing materials to donors
  • Greet donors and provide information about Goodwill’s donation policy, mission and programs
  • Maintain clean housekeeping around donation area (about 50 ft. radius)
  • Assist supervisor in providing on the job training to new staff, participants, clients and volunteers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Previous retail and customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Able to read and write in English, or willingness to enroll in and complete an ESL program
  • Positive attitude and able to work well with a team of diverse backgrounds
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull at minimum 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop
  • Must be able to walk and stand on hard surfaces for an extended period of time
