Goldfish Swim School - Yorktown Heights is Hiring a FUN JOB SAVING LIVES! Swim Instructor or Lifeguard Near Yorktown Heights, NY

We are looking for energetic, passionate, and motivated people to join our team at Goldfish Swim School Yorktown Heights, to make waves in the lives of the children in our community, as well as in their futures! Our Swim Instructors, Lifeguards, WOW! Customer Service Team Members and Management Teams play an integral part in moving forward a mission to make children safer in and around the water - literally saving lives! - while impacting their own!

Role: Swim Instructor

Summary: Instructs students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
Inspects pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues
Evaluates students’ progress each week
Advances through cross-training in multiple roles and substitutes when necessary
Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents; rescues and administers first aid when necessary
Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to provide a Golden Experience to our students, families, and team members

Job Qualifications and Skills

Ability to work with children
All swim instruction experience welcome, no experience required! We'll train you!
Problem solver and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
Prior related leadership and teaching experience is preferred (supervisory roles)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Must pass background examinations prior to training
