Goldbelt Falcon is an innovative mid-sized business focused on program management and logistics, systems engineering, metrology and calibration, and research and bioinformatics solutions/services. Falcon focuses on the scientific, technical, and engineering needs of customers charged with defense, homeland security, aerospace technologies, and environmental protection. 

Summary:

Goldbelt Falcon is seeking a Systems Administrator II. The Systems Administrator II will develop, runs tests on, implements, and maintains operating system and related software. Also, will research and resolve system issues and communicating solutions to users.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate systems and software
  • Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with executive management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network and system goals
  • Coordinate and collaborate with network engineering, business application owners, and user administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate networks and servers to meet business demands
  • Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems
  • Conduct research on server hardware, software, and protocols in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
  • Deploy workstations, servers, storage devices, printers, scanners, firewalls, encryption systems, and security related applications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Prior experience as a Systems Administrator in a Windows Active Directory environment
  • Experience with VMware or Windows virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies
  • Microsoft 365 Email and SharePoint knowledge
  • A solid understanding of managing Active Directory Group Policies
  • Familiar with Drupal web content management system
  • Ability to use customer service skills to communicate relevant information, policies and procedures by telephone and in writing.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in problem-solving and working independently
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply various project, quality, and model-based methodologies to solve complex problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer and IT 
  • Comp TIA certification is required
  • Minimum four (4) years of related experience 
  • Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (Server)
  • MCSE
  • Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure certifications
  • Linux knowledge, is a plus
