As a Preschool Teacher at the Goddard School of Pasadena you will help young minds explore, discover and understand the world around them.
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Infant and Toddler Teachers to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.
The Goddard School is an accredited private preschool that provides a premier educational child care experience. We offer year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develops, documents, and maintains a variety of fun and educational programs and activities
· Interacts with children at their level (stoop and bend) both physically and verbally throughout the day
· Evaluates and analyzes student learning
· Maintains records of students and their progress
· Observes and responds to children’s needs, emergencies, and conflicts that might occur in a classroom, on the playground, in bathrooms, or in common areas
· Helps children with personal hygiene and with keeping classroom clean and organized
· Manages supplies and ensures orderly work areas
· Meets with parents, staff, and administration and attends staff meetings and other events as needed/requested
· Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· One year of progressive and relevant child care experience (preferred)
· Must meet all state qualifications for classroom teaching positions and maintain state in-service requirements
· Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
· Able to interact with students of all ages and skill levels
· Highly professional and dependable
· Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
· Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
· Able to stand on your feet for long periods of time, at least 95% of the day
· Proficient computer and internet skills
