Asset Allocation - Portfolio Management Program Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Asset Allocation Team defines and implements the strategy for the firm’s investment portfolio. Working closely with other teams in the New York Investment Office, Asset Allocation leads the management of Global Atlantic’s $150 billion general account.

A subgroup of the team, Portfolio Management, is responsible for ongoing management of the $150 billion assets backing existing policies and supports the competitive acquisition of new business onto the balance sheet. Within this team the Program Analyst is expected to:

  • Participate in the construction of pricing portfolios for new and prospective business
  • Assess how new investment strategies impact asset-liability management and underlying profitability for Global Atlantic
  • Work with the Investment Analytics team to build out tools that track investment positioning and performance relative to pricing expectations
  • Perform analysis on in-force investment portfolios and suggest trades to improve asset-liability alignment.
  • Collaborate with Risk and Actuarial Teams to assess the impacts of a changing regulatory environment on invested assets
  • Prepare investment-related materials for senior leadership, board members, regulators, and potential investors
  • Liaise with portfolio managers and other business teams on ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic record and 1-2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in financial markets, portfolio construction, and asset management
  • Strong background in both Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with programming languages (Python / SQL) a plus
  • Familiarity with quantitative concepts and fixed income math
  • Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements a plus
  • Energetic, inquisitive and an initiative to take on high impact projects that cover new ground for the team and the company
  • Highly professional and team oriented; organized with acute attention to detail
  • Strong balance of technical and communication skills
  • Progress towards CFA designation a plus
