Position: Camp Program Director
Location: Camp Mary Atkinson, Selma, NC
Duration: Summer 2024
Day in the Life:

• Program Planning: Create and develop fun and age-appropriate activities that cater to campers' interests and abilities.
• Event Coordination: Organize exciting camp events and ensure they run smoothly.
• Scheduling and Procedures: Develop schedules and procedures that keep everything running like clockwork.
• Overall Camp Operation: Assist in managing the day-to-day camp operation, helping us create the perfect camp experience.

Requirements
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visas at this time.

• Must be 21 years of age
• Experience in administrative/supervisor roles in an environment similar to camp.
• Experience in the development and delivery of programs and activities for similar population.
• Current instructional certification in program or related experience in which willing to obtain during training.
• Current certification in first aid and CPR or willing to obtain.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Training and experience in teaching programs to adults and children.
• Desire and ability to work with children outdoors.
• Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours.

Physical Aspects of the Position:

• Ability to communicate and work with girls and adults and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
• Endurance including standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate program equipment and program activities.
• Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering program in the facility available and operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying weather conditions.
• Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.
• Ability to observe staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate management techniques.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
• Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
