EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibility is serving as an Accountant for high volume Accounts Receivable processing and ensuring all accounting policies are being followed in accordance with GAAP, federal and state guidelines.The selected candidate must be able to produce timely, relevant and accurate financial reports for GBI under the direct supervision of the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.In addition to the primary responsibilities, the candidate must be able to: Establish and maintain receivables in TeamWorks FinancialsPrepare and track customer invoicesRecord cash daily bank deposits and ensure that cash receipts and payments are recorded timelyResearch receipts and ensure receipts are posted to the correct accountsPerform daily cash receipts reviewsUse Excel to produce reportsThis is the entry/training level of the accounting job series. Incumbents at this level may require additional training or experience to gain full proficiency in all or some of the job responsibilities. There is the opportunity to telework in this position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Good time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Critical thinking skillsPrioritization and multi-tasking skillsEssential knowledge of operating office equipment to include but not limited to computers, copier, fax machines, scanners, answering telephone, and filing.Established experience in using Microsoft Office Suite software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent will occasionally be required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel. Occasionally light lifting/or moving boxes or supplies may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires the incumbent to work in an office setting which includes shared office space with other professionals. NOTE: This position may require some travel and operating a state vehicle. A valid Georgia driver’s license is required.
