George Fox University's Doctor of Physical Therapy program is seeking an experienced, dynamic leader who can work collaboratively with faculty and students to foster a culture of academic excellence, mentorship, and professional development within the DPT program, ensuring its continued growth and success.

About the Job:

The role of Program Director is a full-time, in-person, 11-month position. The ideal applicant will bring experience and knowledge regarding administration and accreditation, along with expertise in research and physical therapy curriculum within the program in alignment with the George Fox University, Wellness Enterprise, and College of Allied Health Sciences.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Effectively balancing administrative/leadership, research, and teaching responsibilities; effectively managing and allocating resources.
  • Demonstrating success and creativity in fostering research collaborations across disciplines
  • Demonstrating a high degree of personal and professional integrity paired with a fair, collaborative, and transparent leadership style and structure.
  • Working with the Dean to lead the DPT faculty and development team in strategic planning implementation and further the program's mission, teaching, research, recruiting faculty, retaining faculty, and faculty development.
  • Overseeing the department staff and adjunct faculty.
  • Generating, submitting, and managing the annual budget for the DPT program.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • An earned Terminal Academic Doctorate Degree (Ph.D., EdD, DSc, DHS)
  • The rank of Associate or Full professor currently.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in a full-time academic higher education experience
  • with full-time experience in a physical therapy education program.
  • Minimum of six years of experience as a physical therapist
  • Previous experience in administrative positions in higher education.
  • Exceptional administrative leadership skills include working effectively within a team of multiple stakeholders, including students, faculty, senior administration, staff, alumni, and community partners.
  • Must hold a current Oregon license in Physical Therapy, license in good standing (or be eligible for licensure in Oregon).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven capacity to build and maintain relationships internally and externally, accessible to faculty and administrative colleagues.
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Job information:

  • Schedule: Full-time, 11 months
  • Primary Work Location: Medical Sciences Building / Newberg Campus
    • This is a resident / in-person faculty position.
  • Working Conditions: Physical requirements are similar to those of teaching and clinical environments.
  • Supervisor: Associate Dean of Interprofessional Education
