Join the team responsible for shaping GSSI’s next generation of radar products. We are actively seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong proficiency in C that has significant experience writing performant code to join our award-winning team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to immediately contribute to design, implementation and debugging of production systems from device drivers through high-level data driven (JSON) framework and application code, as well as signal processing. This is a key role for the company and as a primary contributor you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge software for our industry leading ground penetrating radar systems.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement high-level framework and application code in C , leveraging object-oriented design principles with a carefully chosen subset of modern C (templates)
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of low-level hardware interfaces for Linux-based systems.
• Help to define and implement custom interfaces and system configurations to satisfy unique application specific requirements.
• Help to define and support code that interfaces with the user with tools such as JavaScript, HTML, and React UI framework.
• Interface with engineers that are writing highly optimized rendering code using OpenGL to deliver industry leading graphical performance.
• Contribute to advanced signal processing algorithm implementation in order to optimize radar data performance.
• Utilize YOCTO for maintaining and customizing embedded Linux images.
• Experience developing and debugging full stack solutions (i.e. interfacing with hardware, developing/debugging UI web components, unit tests, etc.)
• Act as a mentor to Jr engineers when appropriate and always be setting a good example in code, inter and intra group dynamics and behavior.
• Be a strong advocate for introducing relevant industry trends and advancements as well as contributing innovative solutions to maintain our technological edge
• Act as a team/project lead when needed.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated proficiency in C programming, emphasizing object-oriented design and template usage. (5 Years hands on with shipped products in a production environment)
• Experience in developing low-level hardware interfaces on Linux platforms.
• Familiarity with JavaScript for supporting UI development. (React a plus)
• Expertise in signal processing and applying filtering algorithms (IIR, gain curves, etc.) is a big plus.
• Hands-on experience with OpenGL for graphical rendering another big plus.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working very closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to design, support and debug both new and mature platforms.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
