Job Duties

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services' (DBHDS) Information Technology Division is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our dynamic team as an AWS/Azure Cloud Engineer/Sr. Server Administrator. This position is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our organization's AWS/Azure and Cloud server environment. This position will also collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and other IT professionals to ensure the seamless operation and utilization of AWS/Azure and Cloud server environment. Your expertise will help optimize cloud operations, ensure scalability, security, and efficiency to support our organizational goals.

Minimum Qualifications

* Designing and implementing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions on AWS.

* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their cloud needs and provide expert guidance on AWS best practices, as well as collaboration with other IT teams and stakeholders to define server requirements and support business initiatives.

* Managing AWS environments, including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation.

* Monitoring cloud resources, implementing cost-control strategies, and ensuring optimal performance; and monitoring server performance, availability, and security, and taking proactive measures to ensure uptime and mitigate risks.

* Automating cloud deployments and configurations using tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.

* Ensuring compliance with industry security standards and maintain a robust disaster recovery strategy.

* Troubleshooting and resolving complex cloud infrastructure issues and server-related issues, including hardware failures, software errors, and security breaches.

* Staying current with emerging cloud technologies and recommending innovative solutions to enhance our cloud infrastructure.

* Mentoring junior cloud engineers and contributing to the development of internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

* Designing, implementing, and maintaining server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage systems, and network components.

* Planning and executing server upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions as needed.

* Implementing and maintaining server backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.

* Developing and maintaining documentation, including server configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Additional Considerations

* Experience in AWS/Azure cloud services and infrastructure management.

* Strong understanding of core AWS/Azure services, uses, and AWS/Azure architecture best practices.

* Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform).

* Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

* Proficiency in managing Windows Server and/or Linux-based systems.

* Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

* Solid understanding of networking, security, and compliance within the AWS ecosystem.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

* AWS/Azure certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
