POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Patient Access Manager (PAM) is responsible for the daily operations of all functions and serves as the liaison between clinics, ancillary departments and the facility. The PAM integrates the department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions, develops/implements policies and procedures that guide or support service, assesses and improves department performance, and ensures orientation and continuing education of departmental staff. The PAM Assists in the preparation and administration of departmental budget. Implements projects and strategies to attain and exceed established departmental goals and metrics
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration preferred. In lieu of degree minimum 7 years of experience in Revenue Cycle is required, with 5 years’ experience in management. Internal Candidates: Minimum two years in leadership role preferred. Working knowledge of insurance, third party pay or options, hospital admissions, billing processes for inpatient and outpatient services are required. Knowledge of legal and technical aspects of registration and third party insurances. Knowledge of electronic insurance verification systems and work drivers. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a high pressure or changing environment and exercise good judgment to resolve problems in the absence of formalized procedures and guidelines. Self-starter and ability to work independently. Prior leadership experience is required
