**This position could be located at our Williston, VT or Huntsville, AL Operations**

Major Position Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring that GD-OTS supplies product that is conforming with the technical data package and that all quality-related contractual requirements are fulfilled. The Senior QE is responsible for process development, including processes variation reduction, and process capability and control improvement. The Senior QE is responsible for contract review activities and developing quality assurance program plans (QAPP) for each contract, ensuring that quality-related contractual requirements are accurate and disseminated appropriately, both internally and externally. The Senior QE plans and executes both internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance to GD-OTS and customer requirements.

The Senior QE develops and maintains quality improvement/risk reduction plans (including FMEAs) and drives continuous improvement for the overall quality system. The Senior QE executes qualification events for both existing and new products, including first article plans and reports, supplier production readiness reviews and manufacturing process/product verifications.

When needed, the Senior QE issues and maintains corrective action requests and ensures that effective root cause, corrective and preventive action is implemented. Responsible for generating internal program scorecards to track quality performance metrics and takes appropriate corrective/preventive action.

The Senior QE works in a team environment with program management, engineering/design, contracts, supplier quality, supply chain management, and other functions to meet delivery plans and schedules.

The Senior QE is responsible for auditing, developing, and maintaining quality work instructions, developing inspection plans and reports, dispositioning nonconforming material (as authorized) failure analysis and other duties, as required.

Basic Qualifications

Education-

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field of study

Preferred:

• Engineering degree
• ASQ Certifications: Quality Manager/Organizational Excellence, Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, Six Sigma Black or Green Belt

Experience-

Required:

• 6 to 8 years of applicable experience

Preferred:

• 8 years of applicable experience
