The Strategic Sourcing Program Office is hiring a Program Manager to provide on-site support of Electric Boats (EB) distributed manufacturing efforts (Focus Factory) at AUSTAL USA located in Mobile, Alabama. EB has established a strategic partnership with AUSTAL to perform structural fabrication, outfitting and delivery of Columbia and Virginia Class modules. This position will be responsible for enabling the successful execution of all current and future offload work planned for AUSTAL.

The successful candidate will lead a small team of on-site Program Representatives at AUSTAL as well as a team at EBs Eagle Park location in Connecticut. The successful candidate will work closely with the EB embedded team at AUSTAL as well as with AUSTAL management to achieve programmatic objectives in the areas of Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost and Continuous Improvement. The Program Manager will report to the Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing.

The candidate selected must be highly motivated, have strong communication and interpersonal skills, have project management experience, be an effective problem solver with critical thinking skills and must be able to cultivate and promote a positive team environment.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Sustain and advance the strategic partnership between EB and AUSTAL
• Primary point of contact with AUSTAL and SUPSHIP Gulf Coast
• Collaborate with AUSTAL and the EB embedded team to achieve Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost and Continuous Improvement objectives
• Formal identification and documentation of offload scope
• Work transfer from EB to AUSTAL
• Requisitions supporting purchase order placement
• Resource planning, training, on-boarding and proficiency development
• Contract performance monitoring
• Ensure work performance in-accordance-with with EBs QMS
• Program risk identification, mitigation and implementation of lessons learned
• Identify existing or new production facility requirements (capacity, tools, equipment, etc)

Required:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
• Minimum of 6 years of project or program management experience
• On-site position at AUSTAL USA in Mobile, Alabama
• Limited travel (~5%) to EB locations in Connecticut and Rhode Island
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and presentation skills
• Applicant must possess or be able to secure secret or higher DOD clearance
