Job Responsibilities

  • Promotes the CI Process (e.g., behaviors, attitude, and culture), working with all departments to develop, implement, and sustain CI programs based upon lean principles (e.g Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping).
  • Primary owner in coordinating, leading, developing, and following up with CI activities.
  • Identifies opportunities, works with technical resources to help drive efficiencies, and best practices.
  • Teaches and models root cause analysis tools, to identify root causes, and to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Be a change agent who challenges existing processes that create waste and non-value-added work.
  • Guides, and/or participates with cross-functional teams to achieve resolution of assigned projects.
  • Collaborating with SMEs, as well as other key staff members, to develop systems and processes.
  • Analyze data, identify areas of waste, and prioritize implementation of data driven solutions.
  • Works closely with the Training & Development Department to collaboratively to achieve plant goals.
  • Provide appropriate documentation and project update to leadership as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety standards, with applicable regulatory requirements while following the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Attend & participate in applicable Management Operating System and Daily Management Systems (DMS) meetings.
  • Ability to work various hours, across all shifts, and to support plant goals as needed.
  • Role models the company core values at all times.
  • The CI Specialist at our Germantown, WI location will also assist, and support the CI needs of our Walterboro, SC location.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Weekly Expectations

  • 50% - Facilitating, Participating, and/or Practicing, Lean Tools.
  • 20% - In Classroom Training.
  • 20% - Typing up breakdowns, instruction sheets, and PowerPoints Presentations.
  • 10% - Attending meetings and taking breaks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience working in food manufacturing in CI, Operations, and/or Maintenance.
  • Possesses strong self-motivation, detail orientation, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and possess excellent research abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task under stressful circumstances and often limited supervision.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and task management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher)
  • Must be willing to travel between other out of state company locations approximately 5-10% of their time.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
