What You Do

• Cuts fabrics for cushions and pillows.
• Adjusts cutting techniques to types of fabrics and styles of cushions or furniture pieces.
• Adjusts machine controls, such as heating mechanisms, tensions, and/or speeds, to produce specified products.
• Inspects products to ensure specifications are met and determine whether machines require adjustment.
• Operates machines to cut multiple layers of fabric into parts for articles such as pillows, cushions, arms, ends, backs, and seats.
• Place patterns on top of layers of fabric and cut fabric following patterns, using electric or manual knives, cutters, or computer numerically controlled cutting devices.
• Constant standing and frequent bending and reaching to maneuver the cutting device when cutting fabric on the surface.

What You Bring

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior production work preferred
• Active listening and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills required
