At CAPS Remodeling, we're driven by our commitment to improve the lives of people with mobility issues by enhancing the accessibility of their homes. We specialize in barrier-free home modifications and installation of top-quality medical equipment, and now, we're looking for a talented Estimator to join our dynamic team. The role involves preparing cost estimates by analyzing proposals, blueprints, medical reports and related customer documents, as well as managing customer relations. Our ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills and a keen understanding of home modification projects, medical equipment installation, and construction costs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing comprehensive, detailed cost estimates for projects. Using Xactimate or similar software used by insurance adjusters.
2. Evaluating and quantifying materials, labor, equipment costs, and subcontractor quotations.
3. Discussing proposals, requirements, and contract specifics to customers.
4. Conducting site visits independently or with a team of medical professionals to gather all necessary data for a quote
5. Preparing and maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
6. Negotiating with vendors and contractors to obtain the most cost-effective bids
7. Keeping up-to-date records of all estimation documentation
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role 
2. Familiarity with medical equipment installation and home modifications 
3. Proficiency in using estimation software 
4. Excellent numerical and analytical skills 
5. Outstanding negotiation and communication skills Excellent problem solving capabilities and ability to come up with creative solutions
